Many parts store offer a free scanning of the OBD II computer – the global side of the PCM. Ron Bilyeu discusses the difference between a quick scan from a bargain scale tool and a professional level scan tool. It’s important to remember that modules tend to tell on each other so, having an understanding of all the features and amenities a professional level scan tool possesses can cut diagnostic time in half.
