Tech Tip: Ford TSB 10-12-12 – 6F35 Transmission

February 19, 2015

On the side of the automatic transmission gear selector on some Fords with the 6F35 transmission, you may notice a button. This button controls what Ford calls Grade Assist, which is basically engine-assisted braking in the event of a downhill decent. Grade Assist is known to malfunction and cause P2700 series codes, which will throw the PCM off and cause the transmission to behave erratically. In this Tech Tip, Peter Luban addresses this communication fault. Scroll to the bottom for the full 2014 ATSG Technical Training Seminar!
