P1285/P1299 Ford Cooling Strategy

As technicians we see customers that drive their vehicles into our shops hot as a firecracker. Ford has a strategy to help prevent drivers from destroying their vehicle’s engine due to overheating called “Ford Failsafe Cooling System Strategy”. In this tech tip, Ron Bilyeu will demonstrate how to address the overheating codes P1285 and P1299, followed by the proper steps  to protect the vehicle’s engine.
