New Classes Coming Soon from AVI

January 23, 2011

The past few weeks have been extremely busy in the AVI Studio. Both Bill Fulton and Wayne Colonna have just completed production of two new classes! Intermittent Diagnostics, set to release early this spring, and A2 Light Vehicle Transmission Test Prep from ASE.

Intermittent Diagnostics

Intermittent Diagnostics is a new class with longtime AVI instructor Bill Fulton. Production just wrapped on this new intermittent diagnostics training program so look for it to be available early this spring. Modern OBD II on board diagnostic systems were designed to flag emissions failures, resulting in severe limitations for flagging engine performance problems. Bill tells us that diagnosing engine performance issues with scan data and flow charts alone is pure nonsense. In this program he extensively covers the tools procedures and methods you can apply for better more precise diagnostic results. Using a series of cases studies and on vehicle demonstrations Bill provides the knowledge and applied skills you will need to better diagnose and understand pesky intermittent issues coming into your shops.

A2 ASE Test Prep

The AVI production team has just completed production of the new ASE Test Prep training program ‘A2 Light Vehicle Transmissions’. This training program taught by Wayne Colonna is a focused review of concepts and operation of automatic transmissions that typically causes technicians to fail the A2 test. While this class may not prepare you to rebuild a transmission, it will certainly lead you down the path to passing your next ASE A2 exam. Wayne presents topics such a basic planetary operation, electronic/ hydraulic clutch and band controls. wayne will cover clutch, band and sprag and how they control the planetary operations. Learn how to read a clutch/band chart for diagnostics. Discover the difference between solenoid performance issues and electrical codes by learning how best to diagnose these issues.
