Headlight replacement tips

March 19, 2016

Drivers and auto service professionals need to know that headlight bulbs dim over time.

  • Small particles of the tungsten filament break away and deposit themselves onto the inside of the bulb, darkening the inside of the glass.
  • Additionally, these particles will burn off and turn into a gas. The gas molecules from the burnt tungsten will combine with the gas molecules of the original fill mixture, further reducing light output.
