AVI Year In Review
January 2, 2023
In January, the annual AVI Conference was held once again at the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort in Ft. Myers. To say it was a huge success would be an understatement, including great training and networking with the best of best aftermarket leaders and instructors. As a heads up, the 2023 AVI Conference will be at the same location, but bigger and better than ever before. Check it out here: https://aviondemand.com/conferences/2023-avi-conference-home/.
In March, AVI once again attended Vision KC, having a presence on the vendor trade floor, along with offering great training from AVI instructors. Additionally, AVI was on the road again with live training in March including an EV Workshop in Wisconsin.
April was very busy with the AVI road warriors (instructors), with stops in Detroit, New York city and Sacramento, California. Also, The Group held their national conference in Grapevine, Texas which was attended by Paul Louwers, Katie Malone and Tom Rayk, among others.
In June, AVI VP of Operations Katie Malone, was one of only twelve winners from SW Florida to be named Outstanding Woman of The Year. AVI was obviously very happy for her achievement.
And once again in June and July, live training abounded, with stops in thirteen different states. This training regiment dictated the purchase of an additional truck, trailer, and transit van, along with the creation of EVa, a stand-a-lone Hybrid/EV trainer.
Speaking of EVa, in August it won a Motor Top 20 Innovation Award, which was presented in November at AAPEX in Las Vegas. This was the second year in a row that AVI has won this prestigious award, winning in 2021 for the AVI Virtual Coaching Program.
Also in August, AVI was invited to showcase EVa and the Prius Training Tool on Tech Garage, the Motor Trend Network series hosted by John Gardner, who will be the keynote speaker at the 2023 AVI Conference. Live training included stops in Illinois, Texas, Ohio, N Carolina and Florida during August.
September and October saw AVI present live training with Hovis, Christian Brothers, NAPA, Stone Wheel, AAA and Bridgestone just to name a few. It needs to be mentioned that Hurricane Ian directly striking SW Florida (AVI homebase) September 28th slowed us down but couldn’t stop us!
In November, AVI was once again at AAPEX in Las Vegas, where our Motor Top 20 Award was presented. In addition, AVI also received the ASE Training Managers Council Award for our Hybrid/EV Technologies Training program.
And in November, AVI also expanded our instructor crew by adding Gil Anchando and Andy Tirado. Both of these top-level instructors really round out both our live training and video course production.
Let’s not forget, as all of this was happening throughout the year, AVI Studios was continuing to produce quality video training programs for AVI OnDemand and The Group Training Academy. Topics included HD Air Brakes and Emissions, ADAS, Hybrid and EV, Diesel, Start/Stop Systems and more.
As we move into 2023, AVI will continue to push the envelope when it comes to both live training and in studio productions. Technicians need the latest up-to-date information and training, and in its 28th year, AVI is dedicated to providing it.
