Coming Soon: ASE-F1 (Alternative Fuels) Certification Course

March 12, 2015

Introducing ASE F1 (alternative fuels) certification training to help earn your patch to service compressed natural gas vehicles. Don Plesner, a long-time instructor for the Lincoln Technical Institute, focuses on the ASE task list to not only prepare you for the certification exam but also give you a solid working knowledge of alternative fuel systems, their common issues, and diagnostic strategies. Mr. Plesner covers compressed natural gas and liquid natural gas.

Over 15 million compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles are in use worldwide, with roughly 150,000 in the United States. CNG vehicles are mostly used in the fleet market; they are a very small part of the commercial market due to a small following of natural gas aficionados who have converted from regular gas. Natural gas vehicles are known to achieve similar if not better gas mileages than that of their fossil fuel counterparts due to their high compression and high-pressure fuel systems.
