Tech Tip: GM 4L60E Series DTC P0894

February 19, 2015

In this Tech Tip, Peter Luban reviews some troubleshooting scenarios that are not covered in the widely popular 4L60E Series GM transmission. The code discussed is P0894; earlier model cars might have had the P1970 code. These codes indicate converter slipping, pump problems, valve wear issues, or a problem with the TCC regulator valve. In this case, we are addressing the TCC PWM Solenoid and the issues that can arise from reusing this part. Scroll to the bottom for the full 2014 ATSG Technical Training Seminar!
