- 1991 brought a major improvement in headlight output with the introduction of Xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, first introduced on the BMW 7 series.
- Today, Xenon HID headlights offer up to 3x more light on the road than halogen headlights.
- Xenon HID headlights last up to 7x longer than halogen headlights – up to 3,000 hours.
- Xenon HID headlights have very low power consumption – 40 to 50% less than halogen headlights.
