The Group Training Academy Receives Art Fisher Award for Excellence in Education
The Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA), a community of the Auto Care Association, announced the winners of its 2019 Industry Awards during the opening general session of its 72nd Annual Business and Education Conference held in Las Vegas earlier this month. AWDA’s annual awards are given to four honorees who have demonstrated excellence in, and made significant contributions to, the automotive aftermarket industry.
One of the awards, the 2019 Art Fisher Award for Excellence in Education was presented to The Group Training Academy. This award is given to a company or individual in recognition of their leadership and commitment to education and training, either within their own organization or throughout the auto care industry.
Founded in 2015 by Automotive Parts Services Group (The Group), and designed and operated by Auto Video Innovations (AVI), The Group Training Academy was created with the singular purpose to provide an environment where aftermarket parts professionals, service advisors, managers and technicians could easily access the training they need to excel in their professions.
The award was presented by the 2018 recipient, Eric Sills, president, Standard Motor Products, and was accepted on behalf of The Group Training Academy by Robert Roos of National Pronto Association and Phil Moore of Federated Auto Parts.
“It is with great pride that we at The Group Training Academy accept the Art Fisher award,” said Roos. “Every day we strive to provide the best training experience for our members while continuing to learn and grow ourselves. We thank the AWDA for this award.”
