“The ADAS Calibration Center Of Cincinnati” – The Group Training Academy EV Tour Blog

March 15, 2021

March 13, 2021 – Milford, OH to Morgantown, WV

I like chicken wings. Chicken wings are like pizza and craft beer… when I'm on the road, I'm always looking for great local recommendations, so when John and I got a piece of glowing advice from a local on a tasty wing joint, I jumped at the chance to give it a try.

Not to go into the gory details, but let's just say that eight hours after my wing gorging, my entire body shut down, and I spent the next 24 hours in digestive misery, placing the whole training plan on poor John. While my incapacitated butt was watching Dr. Phil from the comfort of my hotel bed, John carried the AVI training banner all on his own. Again, glowing reviews from the participants, some of the best we've received yet.

Our host for this eight-hour class was the ADAS Calibration Center of Cincinnati, and once again logistically arranged by Dave Gamm and the KOI/Fischer team. This new and spectacular facility focuses on supporting automotive repair facilities in the area with complete ADAS diagnostics and repair services. You can see from the pictures that their shop is top-notch and a great place to train.

After the conclusion of the training event, John once again got lots of requests for new training. We at AVI and TGTA are compiling a list of specific topics our attendees are looking for, both on electric vehicles and other topics. Coming out of Covid, it seems like techs are genuinely looking for education on new and existing topics, and we as a company are going to do our best to support them. We're learning a lot on this tour, and AVI is committed to preparing and offering the best training in the industry, listening to our clients on what they want and how they want it to be delivered. We're already formulating plans on new offerings and various delivery methods and will inform you through this blog as those plans are developed.

After the day's training was completed at 5, John rescued my invalid butt from the hotel, and we set off for our drive home. Have I mentioned that John has "I-don't-drive-a-truck-pulling-a-trailer-itis?" I got payback for pushing the burden of that day's class on him by being required to drive to Ohio and then to my home in WV, feeling ill and sorry for myself the whole way. I would have never made it if it wasn't for the support of my colleague and good friend John. We poke a lot of fun at each other, but it is great to work with someone you consider a friend. He may say differently about me, but he'd be lying.

We have some time off the road for a week or so but will be bringing you some updates on some exciting AVI projects as we count down to our next trip. Training in the Sunshine State!

Stay tuned to this blog, as we hope to bring you updates on this tour as it goes, both the good and not-so-good, all the way through to its' conclusion on March 27 in Fort Myers, Florida, TGTA's world headquarters.

If you are interested in finding out how to bring TGTA live training to your area, contact us at Phone: 1-800-718-7246 | Email: support@aviondemand.com. We will be adding tour stops for the EV classes and additional content on such topics as advanced diesel diagnostics, ADAS, and light, medium, and heavy-duty braking systems.
