Tech Tip: Crank/No Start on a Ford 6.0 Power Stroke

March 12, 2015

This is a hands-on demonstration of diagnosing a no-start condition in a 6.0-liter Power Stroke with hand-picked parameter IDs (PIDs). Ron identifies the sensors you should test when faced with a crank but no start – the barometric pressure sensor, manifold back pressure, and exhaust back pressure sensors. Ron also identifies the exhaust back pressure sensor as the most troublesome, as it is subjected to the most severe conditions.
