New Course: Making Money Servicing Hybrid Electric Vehicles

August 12, 2014

There are over 3 million Hybrid vehicles on the road in the U.S. today which accounts for a good chunk of the totally amount of vehicles on the road. Hybrids are getting to the point where they are all either already out of their warranty stage or very close to it which means more shops will start to reap the benefits of servicing this new technology. Hybrids are at the point where not many technicians are trained to service them, but the technology is still fairly new so becoming a leader in your shop could be as simple as adapting to the serviceability of Hybrids.

In this course, presented by Auto-Electric guru Dave Hobbs, basic Hybrid knowledge and service are addressed to give you the basic knowledge to start performing maintenance. We cover the different Hybrid vehicle types, how to quickly identify a hybrid and safety measures to make sure you don’t get harmed when fiddling around high voltage cables and battery packs. Dave also gets into detail about the unique components found in Hybrid applications as well as service opportunities surrounding all components presented.
Topics Include:

• Why Hybrids?
• Equipment Needed.
• Hybrid Vehicle Types.
• Hybrid Components.
• Basic Driving Functions.
• Hybrid Identification.
• Staying Safe Working with Hybrids.
• Component Service Opportunities.
