Description

The Duramax 3.0, sometimes referred to as “the baby Duramax”, was introduced in 2020 as an I6 package with some interesting innovations. This program will take you through the diagnostic procedures and component testing technique and more to keep you up to date with GM’s latest diesel engine.

Course Objectives:

• Overview of the Duramax 3.0 engine
• Understand Electric Steering
• Be able to troubleshoot the Duramax battery and voltage bus
• Understanding the major components of the Duramax fuel system
• Identify and troubleshoot Duramax 3.0 pump belt
• Identify the role of the mass flywheel
• Identify electronic engine mounts and the effect on performance
• Understand the role of various coolant system components
• Identify key components of the Duramax intake and exhaust systems
• Understand the role of the DEF tank heater and potential issues
• Locate and troubleshoot the Duramax 3.0 Fuel Filter
• Review common trouble codes encountered servicing vehicles with Duramax 3.0 engines
• Understand the criteria that set codes in the Duramax 3.0 systems
