Course Description:  This course is designed to ensure proper brake system service on the many systems currently in the industry. Many of these systems are neglected or lack the proper service procedures ensuring longevity as well as the increased performance of the brake system. Detailed overviews and activities will highlight brake system designs, components and integration to active safety systems.

Course Objectives: 

  • Describe standard brake system components and operation
  • Understand hydraulic braking systems and components
  • Understand brake power assist units
  • Relate disc brake systems, diagnostics and repair
  • Illustrate the operation of non-ABS brake valves and switches
  • Describe anti-lock braking systems, diagnosis and repair
