Course Description: This course has been designed to enable our participants to understand most typical suspension system functions, designs & operation with a custom hands-on approach utilizing our in-class mock-ups. This enables a controlled collaborative environment with ease of access to components gaining an unobstructed 360° view for higher comprehension.
This course is intended for techs who have some knowledge of suspension systems but have limited experience. Our guided activities include: how to properly rebuild strut assemblies, control arms and other suspension components. Proper inspection, testing and service, with safety as a priority at all times!
Participants will also be instructed and given the opportunity to practice as well as R & R steering components like tie rod and power steering pullies. This is a comprehensive, hands-on class with live components, tools and methods to prepare participants to return with the confidence needed to get the job done. Come ready to get dirty!
Course Objectives:
- Learn about different suspension system configuration and the pros and cons associated with each style.
- Understand what the primary purposes of the suspension system are and how it accomplishes these tasks.
- Understand what effects improper alignments and failing components can have on vehicle stability and performance.
- Learn about all the specialty tools and practices used when replacing key suspension components.
- Gain an understanding of how to properly service the different types of power steering systems.
- Understand the importance of proper safety procedures and the risks associated with servicing suspension components.
