Description

This course provides a comprehensive, technician‑focused introduction to automotive lab scope operation, waveform interpretation, and diagnostic strategy. Students will learn how to apply oscilloscope technology accurately, and efficiently across modern vehicle systems. The curriculum will cover math channel features along with measurement channel features. Students will learn how to detect mis- located tone rings, magnetized tone rings and the wrong tone rings installed. Students will learn how to use the crank sensor waveform and a math channel to detect an engine misfire and locate offending cylinder. Technicians will also learn how to diagnose solenoids using time constants and phase rulers.
