This EV/Hybrid training bundle covers 10.5 hours of essential information and repair techniques for technicians working with high voltage vehicles.
Topics include: Safety, Electrical fundamentals, wiring schematics, Testing circuits, EV and Hybrid principles, Necessary tooling, safety procedures, maintenance procedures and Real-world service and testing procedures for working with EV and Hybrid vehicles.
- LBT-408 Intro to Electricity
This is part one of our three-part series covering an all-inclusive start to finish course on electricity. In this course we start from square one with how voltage is created inside a battery, we cover electron flow, ohms, and wattage laws, how to effectively use a DVOM to perform various electrical tests including the ever-important voltage drop test. We then move into wiring schematics, starting, and charging systems including smart charging systems and their diagnostic procedures. If you are an educator, you will be pleased to know that this course has been developed with instructor materials such as power points, activity worksheets, tests, and lesson plans.

Runtime: 219 minutes
- LBT-410 HV Hands On with EV
In this course, AVI’s instructor walks the student through the practical ins and outs of low- and high-voltage electricity theory through lecture and examination of electric vehicle components. The Instructor shows the proper testing and servicing procedures involved with traditional 12 volt systems and the newer high voltage components found in electric vehicles. High voltage components covered in this course include the HV battery pack, inverter assembly, converter assembly, electric air conditioning compressor, and Motor generators 1 and 2. A heavy emphasis will be placed on safety as well as real-world diagnostic testing and repair procedures. This course is ideal for both the new student looking to learn about basic electrical theory and the more advanced technician seeking knowledge on high-voltage systems in modern electric vehicles.
