The required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), along with the proper applications and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and specialty tools required for EV service. This course will cover Ford and Chevrolet EV Technology systems, design, operation, service needs, along with the common areas of failure or wear. The description and operation sections of this EV focused course will include: the drive-train components used in multiple systems, inverter functions and internal subsystems, converter systems, motor types along with their power modes, air conditioning system designs, cooling systems for the components. Diagnostic procedures and proper tool usage will be covered in depth as the electronic testing tools required for these vehicles are different from those commonly used in shops at this time. Participants will be heavily engrossed with hands-on activities focusing on the proper diagnostics and testing of high voltage systems such as: the high voltage battery connections and conditioning, high voltage management and analytics, battery diagnostics, motor/generator insulation testing, interlock circuits & vehicle auxiliary systems involved in Electric vehicle design. These activities are conducted utilizing the proper high voltage-rated equipment along with our training aids. Giving participants the access to the tools, knowledge and confidence needed to become a Electric vehicle professional. Course Objectives: Recognize the Personal Protection Equipment needed and understand the correct procedures and applications Identify different hybrid system platforms along with their components and functions Understand proper vehicle shutdown and High Voltage disabling procedures Execute the proper Electric vehicle diagnostics Evaluate high voltage battery technology and their components Demonstrate high voltage component testing, removal, and replacement Training Activities: Hands-On Live Vehicle, Hands-On Training aids & Access to System Components

Hands-On Advanced Networking Diagnostics

Effectively diagnosing C.A.N./C.A.N. FD concerns poses a significant challenge. This intensive hands-on course offers unparalleled coverage of the design, operation, and testing of C.A.N. FD systems with AVI’s exclusive Networking Training Aid. Guided by expert instructors, AVI’s Advanced Networking Diagnostics workshop provides the solutions you need to diagnose the C.A.N. FD system efficiently. Course Objectives: Decode C.A.N. Communications Analyze Transceiver Operation Interpret LIN Mapping Understand automotive Ethernet Protocols Compare and contrast the functions of Configurations in Modern Network Systems Properly Repair Twisted Pair Wiring Interpret C.A.N. Labscope Waveforms What You’ll Learn: Identify different network types: Understand the differences between C.A.N. & C.A.N. FD Systems. Advanced Diagnostics: Learn the best network testing method and correct equipment required to diagnose network functionality. Comprehensive Systems Understanding: Learn a troubleshooting approach to simplify complicated network systems.

Hands-on Electrical and Modern Lighting Workshop

This course is focused on providing a deep knowledge in vehicle electrical circuits along with comprehensive testing of Battery, Starting, and Charging. The participant will be presented with wiring diagrams to perform proper analysis of varied circuits controlled mechanically, conventionally and utilizing more modern logic program control (solid-state) components. Today’s headlight bulbs have evolved from simple filaments to complex HID, LED, and laser designs. Headlights must provide enough light at highway speeds to ensure the safety of the driver but at the same time cannot blind oncoming traffic. Nanotechnology has led to LED micromirror designs that were not possible in the earlier years of the automobile. This course will explore new headlight designs, and break down the differences between Candelas, lumens, watts, Kelvin, and pixels. This course covers generic headlight aiming procedures and DOT regulations. We have also included a section on headlight control systems which illustrates the complex design used in late model vehicles. Gain confidence in how best to utilize your multimeter and all of its different functions. Perform real world testing and learn what the results mean. Understand the benefits of performing voltage drop testing versus open circuit resistance testing. Become familiar with Ohm’s Law and see where it falls short. Understand basic and more advanced electrical theories. Recognize the Personal Protection Equipment needed and understand the correct procedures and applications. Modern Lighting Overview Modern Lighting/Adaptive Headlights Modern Lighting Testing Modern Lighting Controls Aiming Headlights Diagnostics
