The new scan tool features “Tech2Tech,” allowing remote vehicle diagnosis. One user, Vince, in Kansas, had trouble with a Lexus. He used Tech2Tech to let Tom, in Ohio, remotely access his scan tool for assistance. Tom navigated Vince’s scan tool, performed a health report, and identified several trouble codes, including issues with headlight swivel motors and the vehicle speed sensor. This aligned with the customer’s complaint about headlight problems.
The Tech2Tech feature also supports video and voice calls. This allows technicians to discuss problems, show parts, or share live data like fuel pressure readings.
Later, Tom, in Ohio, had a 2022 Toyota Highlander with only three miles on it and asked Vince to remotely control his scan tool to examine the data stream. Vince accepted, remotely accessed Tom’s tool, ran a health report, and then explored the ECM data stream, demonstrating how to use the search function and graph specific parameters. The session concluded by showing how to disconnect.
Tech2Tech allows a remote expert to fully control your scan tool, helping diagnose and repair vehicles faster by leveraging specialized knowledge.
