Here’s something pretty interesting when was the last time you saw a diesel truck with electronic engine mounts?
These are 12-volt mounts with just a simple two-wire hookup: a 12-volt feed and a ground. The computer controls the mount to reduce engine vibration, using built-in software. If one of these mounts fails, they run about $100, so replacement isn’t too bad.
Installation is straightforward, but keep in mind that the mounts are indexed the left and right sides have different part numbers because the electrical connector has to line up correctly with the harness.
These mounts are designed to help with vibration complaints, and they’re DTC-capable. If there’s an electrical issue, a trouble code will be set for the electronic engine mount.
Replacement mounts are available from a few manufacturers GM, of course, being one of them.
