Becky Witt’s Seagull Management at the AVI Conference

August 13, 2014

No body understands business management like shop owner, technician and instructor Becky Witt. Here is a quick teaser from her Stop Running a Zoo and Become a More Effective Manager course that is sure to bring to light some questionable characteristics of ineffective managers.

Full Course Description:

The most harebrained management practices can work in the beginning, but at some point, things have to become less activity-based and more production-based if talent is to be retained and the company to move forward.

You’ll be provided with work sheets listing each task that must be performed and you’ll decide who performs those things. When you get home, you’ll have good job descriptions, including one for the shop owner. One problem of business ownership is lost focus, because the owner gets to do what they want. This can lead to doing things they shouldn’t.

Understanding how to organize and lead a team is an important step. Knowing what performance indicators to monitor is another step.

This class is ideal for shop owners, shop managers or service advisors aspiring to do more and better understand how things should work.
