Disc Brake Insp with Int Parking Brk
When retracting an integral e-brake caliper piston, never use a C-clamp as it will damage the internal mechanism. These calipers, unlike standard ones, have a built-in mechanical e-brake. A special tool kit is required to retract the piston by twisting and applying slight pressure, as well as to align the brake pad tangs with the piston’s indexing to prevent uneven wear. Therefore, Technician B, who states most brake pads must be correctly aligned with the piston in an integral e-brake caliper, is correct. Always follow manufacturer specifications.
