So this replaces this filter that we looked at in the early style. Not a problem, okay? So, you have to take the unit out, pull the bolts apart, basically, and then you’re gonna go ahead, and put this in, okay? So you put the new filter in there, it’s got a strainer screen here, it’s got basically a filter here.

This filter’s designed to catch things like the DEF fluid and such that someone may have accidentally put in a tank which we know is a big problem. So, this is where you’ll see, actually, a little bits of DEF crystallizing in this particular area. So this filter takes a little longer to put in than the other one, but it’s more bulletproof, and it’s a far better filter. Ford has really upgraded the filter.

Now remember, the fuel pump is not in this assembly any longer. The newer trucks with this type of fuel-filter housing, the fuel pump is actually in the tank. So, bit of a difference, okay? Now, there’s also an O-ring seal of course, that you must make sure you put in there.

This O-ring seal has to go in there to seal this housing correctly. Make sure you do a good job putting the seal in there. Put a little bit of fuel on it to lubricate it, pop it into place, put it together, and you’ll be in good shape.
