SUMMARY:Computer Controlled Cooling Systems
DESCRIPTION:JOIN US MAY 12 @ 12:00-1:00 PM EDT\nFOR THIS PREMIER LIVE EVENT! \nInstructor Dave Hobbs will cover what you need to know about computer controlled cooling systems.\nDave will hold a Q&A session at the end of the presentation to answer any questions you have. \n*Registration info given upon enrollment \n\nDo you understand the workings of today’s computer-controlled cooling systems and components? Cooling components and the networks that control them are becoming more complex\, and knowing how they operate and interact with each other is essential for efficient and cost-effective diagnostics. \nIn this course\, instructor Dave Hobbs will explain modern cooling systems and their components’ workings\, including electronic thermostats\, electric cooling fans\, electronic viscous clutch fans\, solenoid controls for coolant flow\, active grill shutters\, active air dams\, and electronic water pumps. \nUsing case studies and Dave’s extensive experience\, this course will show the technician how to profit from these complex components\, focusing on best practices\, system diagnosis\, and repair. \nTopics Covered: \n\nElectronic Thermostats\nElectric Cooling Fans\nCoolant Flow Solenoid Controls\nActive Grill Shutter and Air Dams\nElectronic Water Pumps\n\nObjectives: \n\nGeneralize Electronic Automotive Thermostats\nUnderstand Electric Cooling Fans\nDiscuss Solenoid Controls for Coolant Flow\nSummarize Active Grill Shutters and Air Dams\nUnderstand Electric Water Pumps

SUMMARY:Nissens Electronically Controlled Compressors Functionality and Issues
DESCRIPTION:When looking at the development of compressors over the last 20 years. The ECV (Electronically Controlled Compressor) has had the biggest impact on the industry. It was a brand new development with a lot of internal components that were different from the previous designs and technology. \nTherefore\, during this training class\, you will be looking at the benefits and issues regarding the design. We will have a look at the functionality\, reasons for breaking down\, what happens if incorrect oil is being used\, overfilling the compressor with oil\, etc.

SUMMARY:Nissens Chemicals in the A/C Oil and How Do They Affect the A/C Performance
DESCRIPTION:Over the years due to the downsizing of the AC systems (fuel efficiency). The chemical side of the Automotive Industry AC has become crucial to a fully functioning AC system. We have to remember that the chemicals you add to an AC system will have an effect on the functionality. Good or bad. \nSo it this training class we will take a closer look at the current and new refrigerants that have turned up over the last 5-10 years\, the addition of new oil to accommodate new AC systems and refrigerants\, does it matter which oil is being used\, can we use as much UV dye as we want\, can Leak Stop be used and should it be used. \nThese are all chemicals that we currently see in the market today and have to be aware of the effect once entered into an AC system.
