SUMMARY:Hydraulic Systems Fundamentals and Diagnostics
DESCRIPTION:Description: \n  \nAVI’s Hydraulic System Workshop offers comprehensive training on the fundamental theory\, components and service of hydraulic systems used on industrial equipment found in fleets and municipalities.  This equipment includes but is not limited to Garbage trucks\, fire/rescue\, cherry pickers\, tractors as well as PTO equipment. This training engages participants in a comprehensive presentation as well as hands-on activities focused on safety\, efficiency and productivity. \nThis hands-on training program is performed on site and delivers comprehensive hydraulic training to fleets\, municipalities\, repair shops\, and schools helping them gain a deeper understanding of the service associated with hydraulic systems. The course is designed for A and B Service Technicians\, heavy duty service professionals\, and Instructors seeking to enhance their skills in diagnosing and servicing hydraulic systems and components. \nThe training is delivered at the customer’s location or at our AVI Technical Academy and features a hybrid approach that combines PowerPoint presentations\, videos\, case studies with hands-on exercises to illustrate the concepts. ASE-certified instructors lead these sessions\, providing practical demonstrations in a workshop environment. \n  \nTo date\, we have trained approximately 100 service professionals across North America\, with plans to train at least 500 more this fiscal year. Trainees learn hydraulic theory and safety as well as how to identify hydraulic components\, determine fluid and component service\, pump and valve type and use hydraulic schematic diagrams to repair systems effectively. Additionally\, our training aids allow students to simulate hydraulic systems\, providing a hands-on learning experience that demonstrates the actual performance of the equipment in a safe learning environment. This approach ensures trainees reinforce skills to diagnose and service most hydraulic systems. \n  \nObjectives: \n\nSafety and Best Practices:\nPrioritize safety with mandatory safety training and basic hydraulic procedures to ensure safe practices while handling hydraulic systems including appropriate PPE.  Trainees will also describe potential injuries from not following established industry safety protocols and the importance to follow OEM safety procedures and tag out protocols\n\n  \n\nUnderstand Hydraulic Fundamentals:\nGain a comprehensive understanding of basic hydraulic principles\, including pressure dynamics\, cylinder sizing\, fluid mechanics\, and the role of pistons in hydraulic systems. Describe hydraulic theory including Pascal’s law that enables loads to be moved.\n\n  \n\nHands-on Hydraulic Training:\nUse hydraulic trainers to practice and observe how different piston sizes and fluid properties affect system performance and pressure\, ensuring a deep understanding of system behavior.  Define key components of a hydraulic system including power units\, pumps\, cylinders\, control valves\, lines\, reservoir\, filters\, coolers and different types of fittings and hoses\nPump Operation and Control:\nLearn the operation of various hydraulic pumps\, their applications\, and methods for controlling pressure using mechanical or electronic valves in different systems.\nMaintenance Practices:\nDevelop the skills to maintain hydraulic systems\, focusing on hose construction\, fluid changes\, hose selection\, and common issues associated with wear and tear.  Use appropriate tools to service hydraulic systems.\nHydraulic Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:\nLearn how to identify and diagnose hydraulic system issues\, including pressure loss\, improper fittings\, and faulty components\, through hands-on exercises and diagnostic techniques. Trainees will learn to read hydraulic system schematics with identifying symbols\, perform correct inspection procedures including correct pump and valve tests\, as well as contaminated fluid identification/maintenance including pressure test.\nResource Utilization:\nUse supplier-provided resources to properly select and maintain hydraulic components\, including hoses\, fittings\, and cylinders\, ensuring compatibility and effectiveness in hydraulic system service and repair.\n\n  \n\nPrepare for Real-World Applications:\nDevelop the practical skills and knowledge needed to effectively service\, maintain\, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems in a variety of professional environments.\n\n
