SUMMARY:ZF Suspension Systems
DESCRIPTION:Ford F150 in Steering & Chassis Technology\nZF/TRW chassis systems are present in every second car on our planet. This shows the large OE business what TRW is representing. During this class you will get an in depth look into TRW chassis technology on a Ford F150\, starting with the foundations of chassis dynamics and different axle systems like MacPherson and Multi-link suspension systems. \nThe participant will understand why the count of control arms is increasing in today’s vehicles like the Ford F150\, and why low friction ball joint generation is so important for servicing current vehicles. \nElectro-mechanical steering systems was the first step to autonomous driving and vehicles like the Ford F150 is equipped with this system. \nTRW is as well one of largest steering systems producers and the participant will learn the influence of these systems to the suspension system. Replacing\, servicing and diagnostic of this system will be taught as well. \nThe participants will also learn how to service and diagnose older hydraulic steering systems in the Ford F150 and the instructor will share experience of errors and reasons for failures of hydraulic steering systems. One of the biggest mistakes we witness technicians making is the assumption it’s automatically the pump when they diagnose the steering heaviness. There are a couple of different reasons for this to happen\, which the participant will learn\, as well as where noises in these systems are coming from and how they are being fixed. \nAfter completing this training\, the participant will be able to: \n\nDescribe components within the suspension system\nExplain different chassis angles and angle settings\nDescribe Kamm’s circle\nDifferentiate between popular chassis systems\nDescribe multi-link suspension system\nIdentify electric steering systems\nDescribe common failures related to the suspension in steering systems\nList basic components of steering technology\nExplain hydraulic steering errors\nDescribe how to maintain the hydraulic system

SUMMARY:2019 Auto Care Legislative Summit
DESCRIPTION:Auto Care Members Invited to Attend 2019 Auto Care Legislative Summit This Fall\nThe Auto Care Association today announced that for the first time\, the Auto Care Legislative Summit\, 2019 Fall Leadership Days and Legislative Summit a biennial educational and advocacy event in Washington\, D.C.\, will take place Sept. 18-19\, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill in conjunction with 2019 Auto Care Association Fall Leadership Days. Leadership Days is a three-day event for the association’s top volunteers and engaged members to discuss industry issues and drive association initiatives. With over 400 attendees expected to attend Fall Leadership Days\, many of whom are expected to participate in the Legislative Summit\, the Auto Care Association will play host to the largest-ever contingency of auto care industry advocates who wish to make their voices heard on Capitol Hill. \nDuring the summit\, Auto Care Association members from across the country will meet with their members of Congress to educate these key decision-makers on the independent aftermarket and its most critical policy priorities. Attendees are prepped with issue talking points\, economic data and training on how to be an effective advocate. The event takes place over two days\, with an issue briefing and reception on Wednesday\, Sept. 18\, followed by a full day of congressional meetings on Thursday\, Sept. 19. \n“The most important voice to lawmakers is not ours\, it’s the industry’s\,” said Bill Hanvey\, president and CEO\, Auto Care Association. “We cannot be successful in the battle for access to vehicle data without these voices. We cannot be successful with tariffs\, trade or regulations that may not only prove harmful to auto care businesses\, but also to the motoring public\, without these voices. Legislators respond to their constituents\, and they want to hear the voices of people who work in and own these businesses. Investing a day and a half to simply have a conversation is the most effective way to ensure the future of our entire industry.” \nAuto Care Association volunteer leaders normally attending Fall Leadership Days should register at autocare.org/fallleadership and check the “Legislative Summit” box during registration to secure participation in the both 2019 Fall Leadership Days and Legislative Summit. \nNon-Leadership Days attendees can register to make an impact at the Legislative Summit here: autocare.org/summit. \nFor more information on the Legislative Summit\, email David Pinkham at david.pinkham@autocare.org. For questions on Leadership Days\, email Danielle King at danielle.king@autocare.org.
