Tom has achieved ASE Master Certified Automotive Technician with L1 Advanced Engine Performance certification, is a master trainer for the Ohio EPA Emissions Program, and holds various OEM and industry supplier certifications. Tom's Clients have included Ford Motor Company, General Motors Corporation, Snap-On Tools, Ohio EPA, American Automobile Association, Cuyahoga County, Cargill Salt, and Cuyahoga Community College. He has also served as a field technician servicing both automotive and heavy-duty trucks.
Vince earned his first ASE certification in 1992 and has achieved the level of Master Automobile Technician with L1. He started in May of this year and can be found at various in-person training sessions nationwide. Engine performance and electrical systems are his specialty but he is knowledgeable in all areas of automotive repair and maintenance.
Vince got his start back in 1988 as an apprentice technician in Sacramento, California. He received an Enhanced Smog Mechanic license as well as a Brake and Light license. Vince moved on to work as a Snap-On diagnostic technical support representative.
In 1999 Vince started his career as an instructor with a major training company. He moved around the training industry for a while, first developing curriculum in North Carolina and then as a training manager in Fort Worth, Texas – overseeing twenty instructors. Most recently he worked in Kansas as the head of the automotive department at a technical college.
In addition to Master level certification Vince has also earned designations as Advanced Level and Parts Specialist, Alternate Fuels and Truck Equipment Technician, and Service Consulting. He regularly renews his certifications and continues his pursuit of further ASE credentials.
John is an AVI instructor you can find on the road at various events across the nation. He has earned his ASE certification in Master Automobile Technician with L1. John has worked for many big name automotive companies and started his instructor career with NAPA in 2009. His specialty is advanced and oscilloscope technologies but he has expertise in all areas.
Gil is from Los Angeles, where he has cultivated an impressive reputation as a body repair and paint specialist. Gil is well known in some “big league” circles, like SEMA in Las Vegas and even Automechanika in Mexico City.
After learning the ropes as a mechanic, he ventured out starting his first automotive shop in 1996 with $4,000, a used hoist, floor jack and lots of naive determination. Six years later, he profited through the sale of that business, and in 2004 opened Desert Car Care of Chandler in Chandler, Arizona.
Desert Car Care expanded to a second location in 2009 and a third in 2012. Both were sold in 2013 to focus on the Chandler operation which grew to become a nationally recognized and award-winning seven-bay, top 1% national gross revenue automotive repair shop.
Frank took his leadership abilities to serve as President of the Phoenix Chapter of the Automotive Service Association from 2013-2017. In 2016 he was elected, and continues to serve, on the National ASA Mechanical Operations Committee representing over 5,000 independent garage owners across the country. In addition, Frank has created the award-winning weekly radio\podcast show Wrench Nation while premiering the unique & fascinating automotive talents & lifestyles of the industry.
Electrons and gasoline must run in Dave Hobbs’ blood because he has literally grown up in the auto electric business. After 20 years of full-time wrenching in the family garage in Kokomo Indiana, he joined GM’s Delco Electronics Division (now Delphi) as a technical adviser and training instructor. As an instructor for Delphi, Dave has traveled throughout the world training Delphi engineers in automotive systems technology. In a dual role serving also as a technical adviser for Delphi, Dave has served as a hotline advisor assisting thousands of dealer and independent technicians with diagnostic problems for over 20 years.
Dave has also served as an instructor for Indiana’s Ivy Tech Community College teaching drivability and electronics, Sun Electric, MACS, ASA and Linder Technical Services. Dave is a qualified master Hybrid instructor, writes for several automotive magazines including Motor Magazine and Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) Worldwide, ACtion. He has worked with Automotive Video Innovations in the making of several automotive training videos, including his personal favorite…”F.R.E.D. Takes The Bus”… a technical training program on vehicle serial data bus communications. Dave is ASE Master L1 certified and a member of SAE, TST, NACAT and IATN.
He and his wife Teresa have three children and live in Kokomo, Indiana. When not involved in automotive-related endeavors, Dave keeps busy working in various Christian ministries, including a radio program broadcast weekly on WZWZ Radio. (92.5 FM) Check out the website and fill up on knowledge.
Mark DeKoster has been fixing cars, teaching people to fix cars, or teaching people to go into management positions in the industry where having a technical background is desired for over 40years. Starting as a technician at a Chrysler-Plymouth Store, Mark has worked as a Line Tech and Lead Tech, for Hyundai, Toyota, and the Service Director of a multi-line GM store. As an educator, Mark has worked in a high school career center, community college, and recently as the Senior Instructor in the Automotive Management Program at Ferris State University. He spent six years as a Service Training Instructor for Ford Motor Co. Mark has worked as a Trainer in the Aftermarket as the Branch Training Manager for Snap-on Technical Training, contract training for Bosch, AutoValue, and Delphi Technologies. Mark has his own Training Company and has done multiple videos and seminars for AVI.
Ryan originally joined Standard Motor Products as a Technician Training Developer. Prior to that he was the lead tech/drivability specialist at a 20 bay independent shop in Michigan. He was the founder of West Michigan Auto Repair Society, chairman of the MI chapter of SAE, has attended numerous ASE test-writing workshops, and presented training at numerous conferences each year. Ryan also presented many of our PTS On-Demand webinars.
Bill Haas is the owner of Haas Performance Consulting LLC, with 40 years of experience in the automotive service and repair industry. Clients now have access to Bill’s solution based focus, expertise, unique perspectives and in-depth knowledge of the industry. Services available include business management seminar development and delivery, keynote presentations, business consulting, performance coaching, and strategic planning facilitation.
Donny is the Executive Officer for the National Automotive Service Task Force. His responsibilities include assisting automotive technicians and locksmiths with information necessary to repair vehicles. NASTF helps to resolve information gaps by acting as a conduit between the repairer and the OE in service information, tool information, education and NASTF’s marquee program, the Secure Data Release Model which allows independent service professionals to apply and received credentials to access key and immobilizer codes from NASTF’s OE partners.
As the Co-Owner of Seyfer Automotive Inc. in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, founded in 1961. He has well over three decades of automotive service experience as a technician, manager and service consultant – expertise he shares in various industry roles.
Donny is an ASE Master / L1 advanced diagnostic technician and C1 service consultant, and has been a participant writing test questions and working on passing score studies for ASE.
