Tom Rayk 

Tom has achieved ASE Master Certified Automotive Technician with L1 Advanced Engine Performance certification, is a master trainer for the Ohio EPA Emissions Program, and holds various OEM and industry supplier certifications. Tom’s Clients have included Ford Motor Company, General Motors Corporation, Snap-On Tools, Ohio EPA, American Automobile Association, Cuyahoga County, Cargill Salt, and Cuyahoga Community College. He has also served as a field technician servicing both automotive and heavy-duty trucks.

              Gil Anchondo

                              We’d like to introduce one of the newest instructors to join AVI’s Training Team, Gil Anchondo. Gil is from Los Angeles, where he has cultivated

                              an impressive reputation as a body repair and paint specialist. Gil is well known in some “big league” circles, like SEMA in Las Vegas 

                              and even Automechanika in Mexico City. 

                              His expertise is a great compliment to the Team AVI Training stable of instructors.

              Jerry Stewart   

                              Jerry Stewart is the curriculum administrator for AVI. He is an ASE Master certified automotive technician with L1, L3, G1, C1, and A9

                              Certifications. Jerry is also an ATRA-certified transmission builder and an AERA-certified engine machinist.  

                              Jerry has worked in the automotive field for 40 years. He has been a shop owner for 17 years, a national trainer for 20 years, and a curriculum

                              developer since 2003. Jerry has developed a curriculum for the automotive industry that includes Advanced Drivability, Diesel Technology,

                              Powertrain Technology, and Hybrid and EV programs. He has developed over 100 classes for the automotive industry.   

                              Jerry’s classes have won the ATMC award four times. The ATMC annually recognizes outstanding or innovative training programs. 

              Larry Cardell  

                              Larry’s automotive education includes A.A.S., GM ASEP Program; Master ASE Certified Automotive Technician,

                              L1 Advanced Engine Performance ASE Certification, A9 Light Diesel ASE Certification, MACS Section 609 Refrigerant Handling EPA

                              Certification. His drive and passion for the automotive repair industry is fueled by the successful students that have absorbed his teachings

                              and gone on to achieve a career in this rapidly changing industry.

              Toj Wallace  

                              After serving our country with tours in Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Poland, Toj brings his expertise to the AVI Instructor Team.

                              Specializing in Heavy Duty, his knowledge and experience in Air Brakes, Hydraulic Brakes, Cummins Diesel Aftertreatment,  

                              Advanced Electrical and HVAC. has helped Toj to become a valued member of the AVI Team Training Team. 

              Matt Buca  

                              As a seasoned automotive professional , Matt has achieved notable accolades, including being awarded the GM-ASE Technician of the 

                              Year in 2002. He also holds the esteemed title of GM World Class Technician. With a commitment to ongoing learning and professional

                              development, Matt holds a range of ASE certifications, including A1-A9, L1, L2, and T4. These certifications highlight his comprehensive     

                              knowledge of the Automotive Repair Industry.
